2504600 - Server IP address or hostname changed during live operation

Symptom

  • The IP address or the hostname of the SAP server was changed during the live operation of the system.
  • SAP was not stopped before the change was made, nor restarted after the change.
  • Some of the RFC destinations start to fail after the IP address was changed.
One of the commonly affected destinations is the "CALLTP_<operating system>".
  • Remote RFC clients fail to logon to the server with a message like:

LOCATION    SAP-Gateway on host [old hostname of SAP server] / sapgwXX
ERROR       hostname '[old hostname of SAP server]' unknown
