2504698 - Removing additional indexserver services fails with error on a SAP HANA system

Symptom

  • You have multiple indexserver services on a single host. 
  • On following HANA administration guide or SAP note 1986612 for removing indexserver services, call SYS.UPDATE_LANDSCAPE_CONFIGURATION('SET REMOVE','<hostname:port>') fails with following error.

Could not execute 'call SYS.UPDATE_LANDSCAPE_CONFIGURATION('SET REMOVE','<hostname:port>')' in 20 ms 468 µs . 
SAP DBTech JDBC: [293]: argument type mismatch: remove not allowed;cannot remove indexserver <hostname:port>. instanceids=..,40,.. not found in HOST layer of daemon.ini/indexserver.c section
