2508290 - What to do if Datafile name contains white spaces or special characters?

Symptom

You have created a datafile name contains white spaces or special characters.

Example:

/oracle/<sid>/sapdata1/temp .data1

/oracle/<sid>/sapdata1/temp^.data1

/oracle/<sid>/sapdata1/temp&&.data1

Error “BR0382E File/directory name '/oracle/<sid>/sapdata1/ temp.data1' contains white spaces / caret characters - file cannot be processed” occurs if you extend the tablespace, perform the backup or perform table reorganization using br*tools.
