2508753 - DBCLONE phase failed with Runtime Errors DATASET_NOT_OPEN and Except. CX_SY_FILE_OPEN_MODE

• During an upgrade using the Software Update Manager (SUM) an error occurs
• The error occurs during the phase MAIN_SHDCRE/SUBMOD_SHDDBCLONE/DBCLONE
• Below is the error is found in the SAPupConsole.log in the Directory: /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/log

• SapUpConsole.LOG

  A trouble ticket and an archive with all relevant log files have been
  generated.

What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program

The current ABAP program "CL_UPG_DIRECT_LOGGER==========CP" had to be
terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed

What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.

To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.

Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
