Error "Service Call Failed; Report an Incident" While Migrating Locations and Logistics Area

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Search for Migration of Location and Logistics Area
  3. Choose Migrate Location and Logistics Area using the migration tool
  4. Select your migration template
  5. Execute Migration step by step
  6. Error "Service Call Failed; Report an Incident" in simulation step

Cause

The service call failed error has many possible causes. One of them may be that the Location ID and Parent Location ID fields have been filled with the same information.

Resolution

The parent location ID should always be filled with a site ID. A Site can be created in the Organizational Management work center on the Org Structures view by activating the Business Residence in the structure. To create Locations and Logistics Areas, use the Migration option.
