Symptom

The requested operation is not available when generating a document for a user:

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HCM Core
  • Employee Central
  • Document Generation

Reproducing the Issue

Go to the Employee Profile via Admin Center > Employee File > click on Take Action > click Generate Document:

Cause


There are currently two know causes:

  • In one instance the cause of the problem was because the picture added in the document template via Manage Document Template > Document Generation Template, had an invalid link.

  • In another case, a mapped field contained a $ character. 

Resolution

  • Make sure to use a valid pictures with a correct source.
  • Do not use $ in mapped fields.
