2510173 - Msg 3701 and Msg 18389 Cannot drop the extended procedure - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Unable to drop the following extended procedures:

sp_dropextendedproc 'xp_cmdshell'
sp_dropextendedproc 'xp_freedll'

  • Trying to drop these within the master database gives the following errors:

Msg 3701, Level 11, State 1:
Server 'x', Line y:
Cannot drop the procedure 'z', because it doesn't exist in the system catalogs.

Msg 18389, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'x', Procedure 'sp_dropextendedproc', Line y:
sp_dropextendedproc failed. Check the ASE error log file.
