Symptom
Registration Email Notification (SystemEnrollmentNotification template) is not triggered when the user self-assigns in a class. It works when the class registration is performed by an administrator.

Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
NOTE: First, make sure that on the class level, it is set to deliver notifications to user upon enrollment (under the class record > "Email Confirmation for User-Initiated Actions"). Also make sure that in the Global Application Settings > Mail is enabled.
Scenario #1:
- Login as a user >
- Enroll in a class >
- No Registration Email Notification is sent to the user.
Scenario #2:
- Login as an administrator in Learning Administration >
- Register the user in "Registrations" tab >
- User receives the enrollment notification.
Why isn't the Registration Email Notification getting triggered for Scenario #1 even if the class settings are correct and the mail is enabled?
Resolution
Follow the steps below:
- Navigate to Learning Administration >
- System Administration >
- Configuration >
- Global Application Settings >
- Mail settings tab >
- Application Notification User Email field >
- "Application Notification User Email" should not be blank. You can put in any generic email and this would act as the "sender" of the email notification that the users receive when they enroll for a class.
