2510761 - Error when installing AO BIP ADD-ON 2.4 SP3 patch 1 in BIP 4.2 SP3 or lower version

Symptom

When trying to install Analysis Office BIP Add-On 2.4 SP3 patch 1 in BIP 4.2 SP3 or lower version, the check for prerequisite "Supported version of BI platform server is installed" fails.

Environment

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office
SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Try to install AO BIP ADD-ON 2.4 SP3 patch 1 in BIP 4.2 SP3 or lower version;

Cause

Analysis Office 2.4 SP3 patch 1 has been released for BIP 4.2 SP4 or higher version only.

Resolution

AO BIP ADD-ON 2.4 SP03 patch 1 can only be installed in BIP 4.2 SP4 or higher version.


AO BIP ADD-ON 2.4 SP04 and AO BIP ADD-ON 2.5 SP01 or higher versions contain multiple add-on installers. One for BI 4.2 SP4+ and one for any earlier BI release as shown in the screenshot below:
