2511175 - Can Company/Legal Entity be a Child in an Association

Can we set up association so that Company/ Legal Entity is the child in the relationship?
For example Business Unit is the parent of Legal Entity.

As per the current product desing this is not supported.

As per system design, Legal Entity is intended to be the highest object in the Object Hierarchy Structure/Association.

Legal Entity should never be set as a child in an association.

If this is carried out, this can have extreme downstream impacts, throughout the system, include suite integration, position management and time off.

One such impact is in the add new employee wizard. The legal entity field appears at the top of the add new employee wizard, as shown below:

 

If you make the legal entity object the child, then when you click on this field you will receive no data. To get data to appear, you need to select the parent field value, which is in job info section, the third section of the wizard.

This won't be possible as the legal entity field is a mandatory field, so you will never get past this section.
