2512638 - Estimate Log Space required for InfoCube Compression

Symptom

During InfoCube Compression one of the following errors is encountered:

  • SQL0964C   The transaction log for the database is full
  • ADM1541W  Application "…" with application handle "…" and application id "…" executing under authentication id "…" has been forced off of the database for violating database configuration parameter NUM_LOG_SPAN (current value "<VALUE>").
  • ADM1541W  Application "…" with application handle "…" and application id "…" executing under authentication id "…" has been forced off of the database for violating database configuration parameter MAX_LOG (current value "<VALUE>").

This document also details how to estimate the required log space before running InfoCube compression.
