2513181 - Workflow not triggered though rules are correct

• Workflow is not triggered when we go to People Profile > Take Action > Change Job and Compensation Information > Save.
• Worflow triggers when we go to Employee Information / Compensation Information > Edit button > make any change > Save.

Employee Central - Workflow

• Workflow is not triggered when we do Take Action > Change Job and Compensation Information > Save.
• Worflow triggers when we go to Employee Information / Compensation Information > Edit button > make any change > Save.
• We are using rules for workflow and event derivation and rules are in place to set event reason and workflow but still workflow doesn't trigger in Take Action.

PS: the above behavior might also sightly change (such that workflow never triggers anywhere) owing to inconsistent setting we are quoting as cause in this KBA.

1. Employee Status field under Admin Centre > Manage Organization, Pay and Job structures is set as ACTIVE where not required.
2. It causes incorrect event reason to derive as we observed in this particular case and in turn the correct workflow doesn't trigger.
3. We can check the saved data and see what event reason was set there, it will be different than what is needed for the workflow.

1. Standard configuration is to keep the employee status as NO SELECTION wherever you don't expect event reasons to set employee status.
2. Only for event reasons such as HIRE, REHIRE, TERMINATION, LOA etc, we set the employee status to ACTIVE, INACTIVE etc.
3. To resolve the issue here, we have to maintain the employee status value to NO SELECTION under event reasons wherever the event is not changing the employee status.

Below is the correction needed for event reasons other than for those mentioned in point 2:
