Symptom
The postal address shown in the formatted address field is an abridged version limited to three lines, which differs from the full address printed on forms.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to Customer Work Center.
- Go to the Account View.
- Open the account ABC (replace ABC with the actual account name).
- Edit the account and navigate to the Overview facet.
- Hover over the Address section.
- Observe that the address data, specifically the State field value, differs based on the Country Code.
Cause
- Similar to the print form address formatting - which uses country-specific routines to determine the displayed address attributes and their positions - the formatted postal address on the Transactional Interface (TI) follows the same logic.
- For example, in Canada and the United States, it is customary to include the state code between the city name and postal code in the address format. In contrast, in Turkey, this practice is not followed, resulting in differences in the formatted postal address between these countries.
- Furthermore, due to spatial limitations on the Account TI, only three lines are available for the address display. This is significantly fewer than the 8 to 10 lines typically available on a printed letter. Consequently, when there is an abundance of filled address attributes, some must be omitted on the Account TI to accommodate these constraints.
Resolution
This is the expected behavior of the system.
