Symptom

  • In the upgrade log, you will find something like:
  • INFO:  XDN:TraceCurrentDirectory: /usr/sap/SUM/abap/tmp
    INFO:  XDNLevelTraceSetLocation: Trace set to: XDNTrace.*.*
    1EETQ008 Error message: DBSL error 29 (db code 0): Connect failed
    1EETQ003 exit code: "20"
  • If it occurs during phase SHADOW_IMPORT_INC, there might be more errors like:
  • EXECUTING /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/bin/SAPuptool optimizeimport /usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/tmp/<SUM> shadow ignorelist=/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM/abap/control/OPTIMPIGNORE.LST

    2 ETQ399 Using variable length integers for packing objects.
