2516178 - Fail to start SAP ASE DB due to sddone: file write error, File too large - SAP ASE

Symptom

When you start SAP ASE, the following messages are displayed and then SAP ASE won't start.

  • sddone: write error on virtual disk 3 block xxxxxx
  • sddone: File too large
  • Error: 823 I/O error detected during wait for BUF
  • Error: 1619 Could not open TEMPDB, unable to continue
