2516373 - Dump transaction fails with Error: 4216 - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • A transaction log backup or truncation fails with error 4216
  • The ASE errorlog contains messages including :
    • A full example is attached in file ASE_log_Full_4216_example.txt

Error: 4216, Severity: 21, State: 1
DUMP TRANSACTION failed in databdb_name db_name: unexpected end of log encountered on page 123345 while scanning for page 456789.

SQL causing error : dump transaction db_name to "/backups/db_name_T14.dmp"

  • And a stack trace including ASE code modules
