2519894 - Error Message : Copying document not possible; reference document is not active

The Error Message "Copying document not possible; reference document is not active" appears when you create a Follow-Up Service Order from Contract. The error messages disappears after few seconds and no data is copied from the Contract to the Service Order.

1. Go to Sales Order work center.
2. Go to the Contracts view.
3. Show All Contracts and find contract ABC(ABC represents the ID of the contract).
4. Select the Contract ABC, click on Follow-Up Button and select Service Order.
5. In the Service order window, you will find the error message "Copying document not possible; reference document is not active" appearing only for few seconds.
6. You will also notice that no data including Account details, Line Items of the Contract is copied to the Service order.

You expect that the data is copied automatically copied from Contract to the Service Order since it is follow up service order.

The error message occurs because the Contract ABC has the validity with status "Not Released", you can check the same following below steps

1. Go to Sales Order work center.
2. Go to the Contracts view.
3. Show All Contracts and find contract ABC(ABC represents the ID of the contract).
4. Select the Contract ABC and click on Edit button.
5. In the Contract screen, you will find the validity of the Contract having status "Not Released".

The follow up service order can be created for the contract once the validity of the contract is set to active. This is the expected behavior of system.
