2520038 - "500 - Deletion of the user failed" error during DRTM Purge

When trying to purge inactive user(s) the purge completes but in the completed report the users have failed to purge and the message for each record is "500 - Deletion of the user failed."

SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite

Try to purge an inactive user via the Data Retention Management tool (DRM tool):

1. Admin Center
2. Data Retention Management
3. Apply the configurations to run the purge as described on 2088065 - Data Retention Management - Purge Data - Platform
4. After those steps the purge looks to complete but when the Completed report is checked for the Purge attempt, for the inactive users the PROCESS STATUS is FAILED and the NOTES column shows "500 - Deletion of the user failed. "

• This issue and the "500 - Deletion of the user failed." error appears when the user to be purged does not also exist in the integrated Learning instance.

• The purge job is currently designed in a way that when it doesn't see a corresponding user in Learning for the BizX user being purged, the job stops and doesn't purge the user from BizX.

The resolution for this situation currently, is to create the user in Learning with the same user information or disable the Learning integration in provisioning, otherwise the "500 - Deletion of the user failed" error will be shown and the user will not be purged from BizX.

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION:

After release b1708, LMS Users ID that were purged/deleted no longer can be used in the learning system. If you have an integration and are planning to re-use the same ID, we do not reccomend the purge process.
