2521380 - Sales Office Determination Different in Opportunity vs. Follow-Up Opportunity

Symptom

When creating a follow-up opportunity, the determined sales office differs from the one in the original opportunity.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales work center.
  2. Go to the Opportunity view.
  3. Open New.
  4. Enter the account details.
  5. Save.
  6. Go to Related Opportunities facet.
  7. Open New.

Result : For the parent opportunity, the sales office is defaulted as ABC (ABC represents the name of the sales office) and for the child opportunity, the sales office is defaulted as XYZ.

You expect that sales office ABC is the same as sales office XYZ.

 

 

Cause

In the parent opportunity, the org data of the sales office is defaulted from the account sales arrangement.

In the child opportunity, the org data of the sales office is redetermined based on the currently valid org management.

Resolution

The re-determination of the sales office per org management is the current expected system behaviour for the follow-up opportunity.
