2522479 - SLD sync fails with error "Unable to open SSL connection to host"

Symptom

Unidirectional/Bidirectional SLD synchronization fails with error message:

Maintain SLD content synchronization
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDNonFatalException: CIM_ERR_FAILED: IO error: Unable to open SSL connection to host "xxxxxx". Peer certificate rejected by ChainVerifier.

Pinging the HTTP destination returns no error (response code 200).
