2522614 - GSTR Tax Return Types

You have Tax Return Types 15 - GSTR-1, 16 - GSTR-2 and 17 - GSTR-3 and you want to know what data each report fetches when you use its Tax Return Arrangement ID and perform a VAT Return Run.

1. Go to the Tax Management work center.
2. Go to the VAT Return Runs view.
3. Open New, Tax Return Run.
4. Fill the required data like Tax Return Arrangement ID and From and To validity.
5. Click Set to Active and Schedule the run.

In the Tax Return that gets generated, you want to know based on what logic system is picking the data and what data you can expect.

• GSTR-2 - Supplier Invoices (Purchasing scenarios).
• GSTR-1 - Customer Invoices (Sales scenarios).

System calculates the data from GSTR-1 and GSTR-2 and the reconciliation happen after that total pay/receivable gets calculated at GSTN level.

• After that you need to run GSTR-3 to close particular tax lines in ByD system.

Currently, in the VAT Return Runs, you need to select the Tax Return Arrangement ID that you mapped for your GSTR-1, GSTR-2, GSTR-3 accordingly based on which run you want to execute.

 2943283 - GSTR-2: Taxable Custom Duty Invoice is not Picked for the VAT as Expected 

According to the SAP Business ByDesign 2005 Release (May, 2020), Custom Duty Invoice will be picked for GSTR -1.

Simplified GST Return Changes:

In addition to the existing GSTR1 and GSTR2 tax returns, you can now generate the GST ANX-1 and GST ANX-2 reports on the basis of the documents associated to inward and outward supplies. The GST ANX-1 and GST ANX-2 reports are part of an upcoming legal change. The import relevant tax events are now mapped to the GST ANX-1 return, hence, while submitting the GSTR1, you’ll have to manually remove the import relevant tax events from the excel generated.
