2523299 - Linking Achievements Directly to Performance Goals and Development Goals - Continuous Performance Management

Symptom

  • This features allows a user to link a CPM Achievement directly to a Performance and/or a Development goal from the system default goal plans.
  • This provides a greater flexibility to those users wanting to more efficiently create an achievement linked to a goal, without having to first create an Activity linked to goal and then convert it to an achievement.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Continuous Performance Management

Resolution

Enable direct linking for Performance goals or Development goals, or both.

  1. Go to Admin Center > Continuous Performance Management configuration page
  2. Check either "Enable Achievement Goal Linking" or "Enable Achievement Development Goal Linking" or enable both:

enable achievement linking.png

  1. In the Continuous Performance page, go to the Achievements tab
  2. Select the "Add Achievement" button

It is possible to select Performance/Development Goals from the system default goal plan, as seen in the screenshot below:

On the Goal plan, you may find the linked Achievement under the CPM Achievements column:

In the Achievements pop-up, you will find the Achievement data that is linked to the goal:

Note:

  • When you link an Achievement with an Activity that has a Performance goal and/or a Development goal already linked with it, the Achievement is automatically linked with the goals. This link will persist - so even if you remove the link to the Performance Goal from the Achievement, it will still display the Achievement under the "By Goal" tab as still linked to the goal. If you remove the goal from the Activity, then the Achievement will no longer display under the "By Goal" tab i.e. the link is now broken.
  • When you link an Achievement directly to a Performance or Development goal, where the goal already has an Activity linked to it, the Achievement will not be linked to the Activity i.e. this does not create a link between the Achievement and Activity.
