2526446 - Mobile app allows absence requests for users without Time Off permissions

Symptom

Users are able to submit absences in SuccessFactors mobile application even without Time Off related permissions

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off

Reproducing the Issue

1. Login as the employee and go to People Profile. Time Off section is not available as user has not been granted with Time Off permissions.

2. Login to SuccessFactors mobile app and select Time Off.

3. Request and then submit time off requests. Absence(s) are submitted successfully.

Resolution

  • This is an expected system behavior until 1H 2025 release.
  • For mobile time off access, system only checks if Time Off feature is enabled and if 'Enabled for ESS=Yes" is set for the time types assigned on the users time profile, hence, permissions in web application for ESS time is independent of the mobile time off access permissions.
  • If an employee should not be allowed to request any absences in mobile application, deactivate the 'Enabled for ESS' indicator for all the time types in the users time profile or disable Time Off in Mobile Settings.
  • To disable mobile access to Time Off:
    1. Go to Admin Center > Enable Mobile Features.
    2. Scroll down to Modules section then uncheck Time Off then click Turn Off button on the Time Off popup window.

NOTE:

  • With 1H 2025 release, Time Off option is removed from Enable Mobile Features > Modules tab
  • Time off will be automatically activated for all users with the respective permissions(For the permissions required refer Permissions for User Interfaces in Time Off)
