2527184 - Application Error When Editing Biographical Information

Users are getting an application error every time they try to edit / update the biographical information via people profile.

Employee Central - PP3 - Biographical Information Porlet

1. Login to instance

2.Navigate to the profile of a user

 3.Click on the pencil button on the biographical information

4. You will get an application error

The issue is caused by the configuration of the field country-of-birth.

 

a) This field should not have a picklist assigned.

Whenever a picklist is asscociated in SDM for country-of-birth, the field id at the UI side is set as personInfo-country-of-birth causing an error to be thrown.

 

b) In PP3 the  the field country-of-birth must not be disabled

 Currently there is a limitation where by this field cannot be hidden however this feature needs to remained enabled in PP3 event if you don't use it.

in fact if you attempt to hide it you, the setting will default back to Edit with a warning as displayed below.

a) Please remove the picklist from field country-of-birth in SDM and import it or

Change it in Admin Tools --> Manage Business Configuration and try again

 or/and

b) ensure that the field country-of-birth is be enabled

 

Please note this works both ways in V12.

Engineering will try to make it work both ways in PP3 from b1711

i.e. to eliminate this error whether a picklist is added or not to country-of-birth and ensure that the field can be hidden too.
