Symptom

The following short dump occurs:

    The current ABAP program has attempted to sort a dataset (internal                            
    table or extract). For capacity reasons, it was not possible to sort                          
    the dataset in the memory, so an external sort was called. The external                       
    sort has therefore been called. This resulted in the following error:                         
    The sorted file could not be written to temporary file                                        
     "/usr/sap/tmp/data/ST11TPUK" (file                                                           
    size:18849548123 bytes).                                                                      
                                                                                                  
    Error number: 28                                                                              
    Error text:   "No space left on device"                                                       

The dump occurs even though the current check shows that there is enough free space in the directory.
