Symptom

How to apply additional authorization to the Custom Business Object, CBO, so that a user can only see CBO records that he/she created and not records from other users.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Resolution

Currently we can only create start authorization for the generated UI. For example:

  • Each user who is allowed to start the generated application can access all instance data of the underlying CBO
  • Instance based authorization configuration is not possible for CBOs at the moment, but SAP is already aware of this requirement and it is on our backlog. No date can be released of when this added functionality will be available
