Symptom
You notice that the attachment formats you require are not shown in the list of the Allowed MIME Types pre-defined by SAP.
Reproducing the Issue
1. Go to the BUSINESS CONFIGURATION work center.
2. Select the IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS.
3. Select the project and Open Activity List.
4. Search for Allowed MIME Types for Document Upload.
5. Click on Open.
- Observation
Attachment in XYZ MIME Type (format) is not part of the allowed MIME types pre-defined by SAP.
Resolution
Even if MIME Type in XYZ format is not part of the allowed MIME Types Pre-Delivered by SAP, you can still allow them by following the below:
1. Go to the BUSINESS CONFIGURATION work center.
2. Click on IMPLEMENTATION PROJECTS.
3. Select the project and click on Open Activity List.
4. Search for Allowed MIME Types for Document Upload.
5. Click on Open.
Here there are two possibilities:
1. You can add the file extension to an existing MIME type code (pre-requisite: file extension must be a valid file extension of the corresponding MIME type).
2. Add a new custom specific MIME type code (The namespace needs to start with letter Z) and add corresponding file extension.
Note: Any MIME type which is not pre delivered by SAP, needs to be configured by customer. This is due to the data security reasons, as the undefined MIME type attachment can contain any type of unauthorized data and can be data threat.
