What are the settings/requirements for users and/or managers to be able to record completion for courses?

Resolution
Global Default Settings:
Setting these values will make it so that any newly created items after enabling these settings will have the User/Manager can Add to Learning History setting enabled by default:
- Navigate to Learning Administration > System Administration > Application Administration > User Settings
- Enable User can add history records for items and Managers can add history records for items
NOTE: Any items created prior to enabling the above settings will keep their existing values.
Item Settings:
For items which already existed before enabling the default values, the settings can be changed on the Item Details tab of the item record.
- Go to Learning Activities > Items > Access an existing item
- In the Item Details tab, modify the following values as per business requirements:
- User can Add to Learning History
- Managers can Add to Learning History
NOTE:The Item Connector can be used to update values in mass. Please refer to the guide.
Required Permissions
User and Managers may have different roles per Learning tenant. Update the appropriate role with the following permissions for each type of user. Modify the roles by accessing Role Management in SYstem Administration > Security.
Users Permissions:
While editing the role, access the Permissions tab > add one more from from list > Learning section
- Access Add to Learning History for External History Records
- Access Add to Learning History
Manager Permissions:
While editing the role, access the Permissions tab > add one more from from list > My Team section
- Access Direct Report to Add External History Records
- Access Direct Report to Add History Records
