Symptom

  • Promoting User group as a dependency for a enterprise user group hierarchy throws the following message:

"Resolution Status=Copied, Dependency Status=All the required dependencies are included., Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed., Promotion Status=Failure : The update to the relationship named UserGroup-User with id number XXX is not allowed because the object with id number XXXX will be part of a cycle. The server supplied the following details: Relationship would not be a tree after update so bailing.".
