2530440 - How to configure DIR_PUT in AL11 for the upgrade directory

You need to set up DIR_PUT entry in transaction AL11 for your SAP system Upgrade or Update. This is a mandatory setup, otherwise errors will take place during the procedure, specially on the (background) batch jobs phases, like BATCHCHK phase.

For example : you may encounter one of the following errors.

Internal error: Progress 0.687500 for phase "PREP_GENCHECKS/JOB_RSUPG_DBDIFF_PRE" already added
*********************************

(or)

SAPupconsole.log contains below error during phase PREP_PRE_CHECK/SWITCHPARAM_UPGDIR

The ABAP upgrade directory "/sapmnt/SUM/abap" and the value of the profile parameter
DIR_PUT="/usr/sap/put" are not the same!

Switching DIR_PUT to /sapmnt/SUM/abap.
