2530641 - How to analyze errors RSO296 & RSO252 regarding ODPE objects

Symptom

The following ODP related errors occur while activating a content bundle by transaction BSANLY_BI_ACTIVATION:

  • RSO 296 "Object <ODP name> (Operational Data Provider (basado en ESH),ODPE) could not be collected for object ... (...)"
  • RSO 252 "Object '<ODP name>' (ODPE) of type 'Operational Data Provider (basado en ESH)' is not available in version 'D'"

Alternatively, an ESH-Based Operational Data Provider object (ODPE) might not be available to install in transaction RSOR despite an entry for it exists in table TADIR. You get the following error when trying to display the modeled version of that object with transaction RSRTS_ODP_DIS and ODP Context "Search And Operational Analytics":

  • RODPS_BASE 011 "ODP <ODP name> does not exist"

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
