How will the changes impact my instance?
Configuration/Behaviour Change
Please Note: Prior to the 1708 release, this field was not required and possibly did not include any data for the Work Order ID. Now when creating a new Contingent Worker, the field will be displayed as follows in the UI:
As shown in the screenshot above, it will be marked as a required field (and the system will prevent you from changing the field to not required). The field is maintained in Admin Center > Configure Object Definitions > WorkOrder, as highlighted below.
In the Manage Configuration UI tool, you can verify the UI layout of this field in the Work Order, as shown in the screenshots below:
Properties of the Work Order ID field in Manage Configuration UI:
Existing WorkOrders with NULL in Work Order ID
Please Note: Prior to the 1708 release, this field was not required and possibly did not include any data for the Work Order ID. Since this field is now required, if a 'null' value existed in this field, the Work Order Name will be copied and used as the Work Order ID as well.
SAP Successfactors Development Engineering team have prepared a script that will be run during the 1708 Production Release to populate the "Work Order ID" field with the "Work Order Name" value where "Work Order ID" is currently NULL. Any Work Orders where "Work Order ID" is not equal "NULL" will be ignored. This will ensure no errors are encountered when trying to Rehire to a Work Order or update an Existin Work Order.
If you encounter any issues with this functionality during release, please do not hesitate to open a Support case with SAP Cloud Support, and quote this article (2530651 - Work Order ID field is mandatory as of b1708) as well as Enhancement "ECT-72012".
