2531212 - Server hanging and generating timeslice errors - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE is generating multiple timeslice errors and by the time error is reported, severe connections timing out are observed.  
  • Timeslice error is followed by a stacktrace which may contains the following functions:

timeslice error: spid XXXX exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 500 ticks (50000 milliseconds)
