2531269 - How to delete Open Content Network (OCN) Items

Symptom

Is it possible to delete Open Content Network (OCN) items that have either been imported already or have not been imported but are in the Content > Open Content Network list as "Not Imported".

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Learning

Resolution

Open Content Network courses under the Content > Open Content Network section shows both imported and not imported courses from the vendor.

  • It is not possible to hide/remove courses that have not been imported already. These courses are sent by the vendor as per the contract with them. The only option to remove any vendor's courses from here is to deactivate the OCN integration with the vendor.
  • Imported courses which creates the items cannot be deleted from the system. There is now a primary record in the database and needs to stay so that the OCN vendor can update it if necessary via the OCN API. If the item no longer is needed, either deactivate the vendor from the system or make the item inactive.

To inactivate a vendor from the system, first deactivate on the OPEN CONTENT NETWORK configuration file under System Administration > Configuration > System Configuration. Afterwards utilize the Activate/Deactivate OCN Courses tool.

If all OCN records need to be deleted from the database table PA_OCN_COURSE, contact SAP Professional Services. Contact your SAP Sales/Account Team for more information. SAP Support does not delete any primary records from the system via scripts and encourage using built-in tools if there are any.
