2531284 - How to copy a DirectConnect Installation

Symptom

You want to establish a new DirectConnect Installation by copying from an existing installation.

Reasons for doing this:

  • establish a new test/dev/qa environment 
  • hardware migration
  • existing installation is no longer available for download

Only Unix/Linux installation are discussed here.  Windows installations make use of the Win Registry which complicates manual creation of a new server.  For Windows installations it is recommended to do a fresh install of the product and copy of over the configuration files.
