2531704 - Unable to Send SMS Content With More Than 160 Characters

Symptom

You have sent an outbound SMS however user received only 160 characters.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer.

Cause

By standard C4C does not allow SMSs with more than 160 characters for outbound messages.

Resolution

In case of using SAP SMS 365 provider, you can use SplitText option to send more than 160 characters. Please find more details in the Help Center document with the title "Configuring SMS Channels".

In case your SMS provider accepts SMS splits, you can add to the SMS mashup the following content

<message>SplitText=YES<message>

This will result in the SMS being split in 2 different messages, each one containing 160 characters.
