How to add a national id section for a specific country in SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Admin Center
  2. In the Tool Search, search for Manage Business Configuration 
  3. Search for the nationalID link.
  4. Click the triangle dropdown of the link to expand all the countries under the nationalID section 
  5. Observe the specific country the user wishes to add a national id type format for does not exist in the nationalID portlet. 


  • National ID card types and formats can be added in the Manage Business Configuration tool.
  • If a country does not exist, then the country needs to be added.


  1. Navigate to Admin Center
  2. Search for Manage Business Configuration
  3. Go to the National id section
  4. Create New Format
  5. Select the Country from the country dropdown
  6. Click Save
  7. Click on nationalIdCard_IND in BCUI under national ID
  8. Select Take Action, Make Correction
  9. Select Yes for enabled
  10. Fill out the Identifier (Use identifier as delivered by product management team via Master Data Model) Label, Display format, and regular Expression fields
  11. Click Save
  • For validations to work please use format-id as delivered by product management team via Country specific succession data model
