2532689 - Unable to Finalize Scope Changes Due to Inconsistencies in the Business Configuration

You are trying to add new elements to the scope of your system, but once you try to finish the selection, an error message is raised stating "Currently unable to finalize these scope changes at this time; some of your decisions would cause inconsistencies in your fine-tuning settings."

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Access the Implementation Projects work center view.
3. Click the Edit Project Scope button.
4. Proceed through the scoping wizard, adding the desired new elements to the scope.
5. Continue until the fourth step.
6. Click Finish.
7. System raises the mentioned error message.

In some cases, this issue is caused because one of the default fixed asset classes and/or account determination groups may be missing in the system, most likely deleted by user action because it was not necessary.

However, the lack of these default values causes the Business Configuration to become inconsistent. At the end of the scoping process, the system runs a check in the Business Configuration to ensure that everything is in order — it is then that it catches the inconsistency and raises the error message. As such, the error message is not necessarily connected to the scoping elements that are being added.

You can restore default values for fixed assets by following the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Access the Overview work center view.
3. Find and open the Fixed Asset Classes fine-tuning activity.
4. Select Edit Asset Classes.
5. Click Restore Defaults.
6. In the prompt, select the missing values listed and click Restore.
7. Confirm and save the changes.

You can restore default values for account determination groups by following the below steps:

1. Go to Business Configuration work center.
2. Access the Overview work center view.
3. Find and open the Charts of Accounts, Financial Reporting Structures, Account Determination fine-tuning activity.
4. Select Edit Account Determination Groups
5. Click Restore Defaults.
6. In the prompt, select the missing values listed and click Restore.
7. Confirm and save the changes.
