2533350 - Error When Trying to Add a Logistics Use to a Logistics Area

You receive an error message when trying to add the Logistics Use Over The Counter Stock to a Logistics Area.

1. Go to Supply Chain Design Master Data work center.
2. Select Locations view.
3. Search for the Location XXX.
4. Select the Location XXX.
5. Choose Edit Layout.
6. Select the Logistics Area YYY.
7. Select General subtab.
8. Select Add Row.
9. On the new row, select Over The Counter Stock as Logistics Use.
10. Click Save.

You receive the error message:

'Over the counter usage already exists for logistics area ZZZ within storage location XXX. Only one "Over the counter" usage is permitted per site.'

 XXX = Location ID

YYY = Logistics Area ID

ZZZ = Logistics Area ID

The system does not allow you to add more than one Logistics Area with Logistics Use Over The Counter Stock inside a Location.

System is working as designed. However, the recommended is that you set up a separate site, to ensure that inventory reserved for Sales Orders is also not considered for Over-The-Counter Sales. Over-the-counter sales does not make an availability check and cannot consider existing reservations.
