2533386 - SELECT from server.db.owner.tablename gets error 208 "object not found" - ASE

Symptom

Error 208 raised when trying to select from table in another server using a fully qualified object name (server.database.owner.object)

Example:

select * from DEV.mydatabse.dbo.tablename

Msg 208, Level 16, State 1: Server 'Myserver', Line 1:
DEV.mydatabase.dbo.mytable not found. Specify owner.objectname or use sp_help to check whether the object exists (sp_help may produce lots of output).
