If for example, you had configured the Pay Group field in compInfo to be associated with jobInfo.company and jobInfo.pay-grade. Prior to 1705, if you did a Take Action > Change Job and Comp Info data > If you changed jobInfo.pay-grade, the compInfo.PayGroup field would not return the new list of values (the system wouldn't re-filter that field based on the changes to the Parent object field, as they are in different elements).

Now with this flag enabled - it is possible to do changes like that in the same transaction. You can set the flag in Manage Business Configuration under any field:

So for example, in the above scenario, we could set this new flag on company and pay-grade; so when their values change in MSS UI, the compInfo portlet fields would refresh with the correct list of values.

This feature currently has a limitation that the compensation widgets will not be automatically updated with the changed value of pay grade in Job Information. However, the widget gets updated on saving the data in Job Information (doesn't work on-the fly/on change). There is an enhancement request ECT-105682 for enhancing the current behavior. Currently there is no fix date available for it. Once it is implemented, it'll be included in release notes.
