Symptom
- Error: 'Failed to load database information'
- Report fails to refresh in Crystal Reports designer.
- When attempting to refresh a report in Crystal Reports designer, it fails with the error:
"Failed to load database information.
Details: The database connector 'crdb_managedrelational.dll' could
not be loaded. The correct version of the database client for this
database type might not be installed."

Reproducing the Issue

In Crystal Reports designer open a report.
- When refreshing the report, it fails with the error message:
"Failed to load database information.
Details: The database connector 'crdb_managedrelational.dll' could
not be loaded. The correct version of the database client for this
database type might not be installed."
Cause
- The report was created off a managed database connection in Crystal Reports for Enterprise designer, but the report is now open in Crystal Reports designer.
- Crystal Reports, and Crystal Reports for Enterprise are two different reporting tools that creates reports. Despite the file format is the same, report created in Crystal Reports for Enterprise cannot be refresh in Crystal Reports designer, as the data connection is different. - Open the report in Crystal Reports for Enterprise designer.
