2535022 - java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to get the length of a null array loaded from local variable 'files'

Symptom

The upgrade is stuck due to the error below:

Sep 12, 2017 9:22:15 AM [Error ]: The following problem has occurred during step execution: java.lang.NullPointerException: while trying to get the length of a null array loaded from local variable 'files'.

Checking the SCAN_INBOX_xx.LOG, you will find the error below:

Aug 28, 2017 2:10:25 PM [Error ]: java.io.IOException: Could not start "XX:\usr\sap\SLM\DVEBMGS00\exe\SAPCAR -xvjf XX:/XXXX/SAPHOSTAGENT29_29-20009417.SAR -R XX:\XXXX\SUM\sdt\tmp hostagent.mf' in path 'X:\XXXX\SUM\sdt\tmp'. Details: CreateProcess error=193, %1
