2535318 - Error modifying Biographical Information

When you are trying to update biographical information for any employee you are getting an application error.

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central (EC) - All Versions

1. Chose any employee;
2. Go to biographical information session;
3. Click on edit;
4. Get the application error;

This error may have different causes that need to be checked by support, but this KBA will address one cause that was found and that is a configuration issue due to fields that are configured with picklists but should not have any picklist configured.

To fix this issue using this KBA check the following three fields:

1. country-of-birth = should not have a picklist assigned to it this field uses the "COUNTRY" object as standard;
2. region-of-birth = should not have a picklist assigned to it since the system has special handling for this field - it will display a picklist for supported countries (such as France) and if the country selected in "Country of Birth" has no Region picklist, the field will display as a STRING field for manual entry.
3. place-of-birth = should not have a picklist assigned to it since the system has special handling for this field - it will display a picklist for supported Regions and if the country selected in "Region of Birth" has no Place picklist, the field will display as a STRING field for manual entry.

If you have any custom picklist assigned to these fields you need to remove them.
