Symptom

  • ASE server crashes with signal 11 in the module ssql_lookup() followed by a stack trace a few minutes after restart:

Current process (0x9b004e) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
Address 0x4000000005ab5f31 (ssql_lookup+0xa01), siginfo (code, address) = (2, 0x000000000000006c)

  • The stack trace includes functions:

ssql_lookup
sqt_get_from_stmtcache 
s__xoltp_dynprepare
internal_sql
curs_convert_to_exec

  • The "auto query tuning" is enabled in the ASE server:

auto query tuning = 1
