2536153 - Failed to connect to system with Live Connection to SAP HANA 2.0 in SAP Analytics Cloud

The following error occurs when you try to create a live connection to SAP HANA 2.0 in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

• Failed to connect to system.

This error also occurs in Chrome Developer tools:

• {"Messages":[{"Number":42001,"Type":2,"Text":"InformationAccess Service GetServerInfo is not available. Install the SAP HANA EPM-MDS plugin."}]}

• SAP Analytics Cloud
• SAP HANA 2.0

1. Create a live data Connection to SAP HANA 2.0.
2. Notice the error.

SAP HANA 2.0 does not install SAP HANA EPM-MDS plug-in by default

Install the SAP HANA EPM-MDS plug-in per the SAP HANA 2.0 documentation.

The following steps show one possible method of installation.

1. Download SAP HANA EPM-MDS
2. Copy the SAR file (e.g. IMDB_EPMMDS_2020P_3-80002211.SAR) to /hana/local/downloads/install
3. cd /hana/local/downloads/install
4. Extract the SAR file (./SAPCAR -xvf Linuxx86_64-IMDB_EPMMDS_2020P_3-80002211.SAR)
5. cd SAP_HANA_EPM-MDS
6. ./hdbinst
7. Enter SAP HANA System ID: (e.g. HDB)
8. WARNING: Will stop and start the SAP HANA system
