What is the behavior for "Close from Consideration" and "Reopen for Consideration" in candidate application page?

Please note that the options "Close from consideration" and "Reopen for consideration" are legacy features and are no longer supported, therefore should not be used.

Instead, please use the "Disqualify Candidate" function.

"Close from Consideration" is the legacy way of marking the candidate as disqualified. It works like a marker for the recruiting user. Once the recruiter hits this option, the candidate will not be moved to a disqualified status but it will be marked in the candidate summary page. It will also mark the Internal status to closed. When closed, the application becomes read only. Recruiter will not be attach documents. Application will also be considered for purging regardless of whatever status they are in.

The above example shows the candidate in the New Application status and marked with a different color. This application was closed from consideration.

When closing an application from consideration, you are still able to take any action like any other candidate. You will also be able to move the candidate through the pipeline, however, when moving this kind of candidate, the application will not be marked anymore. This candidate will be shown with the usual instance color and the "Close From Consideration" option will be available again.This mark will not be available for reporting.

Q. Is it possible to hide the "Close from Consideration" and "Reopen for Consideration" options from the Take Action menu?

 Please note that the options "Close from consideration" and "reopen for consideration" cannot be hidden from the Take Action menu. 

Q. Is it possible to hide the "Close from Consideration" and "Reopen for Consideration" buttons?

To hide these buttons, remove the button permissions from the Job Application template.

1. Go to Manage Templates > Recruiting Management > Job Application
2. Edit the Job Application template
3. Click on "xx Button Permissions defined. Click to modify."
4. In the "Button Permission Button" dropdown list, disable the following options:

• Close Application
• Reopen Application
