Symptom

While performing an upgrade using the Software Update Manager (SUM) and the tool fails during phase PREP_EXTENSION/EHP_INCLUSION with the following error:

  • EHP_INCLUSION.LOG:

    1EETQ399 Last error code set is: RFC system <SID> nr <instance nr> function 'SPDA_DISASSEMBLE_QUEUE'
    1EETQ399XRFC failed with code 3 key COMPUTE_BCD_OVERFLOW:
    1EETQ399XOverflow during an arithmetic operation (type P) in program SAPLSPDA

In transaction ST22, the following dump can be found:

  • Transaction ST22 dump:

    Category ABAP programming error
    Runtime Errors COMPUTE_BCD_OVERFLOW
    Except. CX_SY_ARITHMETIC_OVERFLOW
