2539597 - Error: "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error" in HANA scenario

Symptom

When using Analysis Office against HANA database, the error below is occurring after exactly 10 minutes waiting for a response from HANA:

"The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error"

Environment

SAP BusinessObjects Analysis, edition for Microsoft Office

Cause

This issue is related to a timeout when connected to HANA database. It occurs when AO is waiting for a response from HANA and this is taking some time.

Resolution

By default, there is no timeout defined in Analysis for Office side when connecting to HANA, so the default value configured in HANA side is used (usually 10 minutes).

In AO side, the setting that controls the timeout is "HanaHttpConnectionTimeout". This can be changed to a value higher than the timeout defined in HANA to avoid the error.
