2540108 - Received timeslice errors in expr_get_msgstring() - SAP ASE 15.7 SP136

Symptom

  • A timeslice error reported in the ASE error log:

timeslice -517, current process infected at 0x1274147 (expr_get_msgstring+0x47)
timeslice error: spid 14513 exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of 500 ticks (50000 milliseconds). It has been marked for termination.

  •  Stack traces reported across several spids and engines:

00:0006:00000:27776:yyyy/mm/dd 07:40:10.74 kernel  timeslice -518, current process infected at 0x1274147 (expr_get_msgstring+0x47)
00:0002:00000:10071:yyyy/mm/dd 07:40:10.74 kernel  timeslice -523, current process infected at 0x1274147 (expr_get_msgstring+0x47)
